Mostly Family Fun Stuff is about getting you, well, stuff. As such you get furniture, clothes and even hair for your sims to use and wear. This part is no different from any other Stuff Pack. These things are based areound three themes : the Hawaiian theme, Fantasy theme, and Nautical theme but regardless of theme many of the objects are geared towards children.
But if you haven't bought any of the expansion packs, you will also get gameplay elements that were added in the packs like Fury, Influence, and Inventory which can change your basic gameplay experience.
Of further interest is that this will install relevant patches to bring you up-to-date as of publication, usefull if you are on limited bandwith or you have a friend or relation who isn't too savy with this whole Intarweb thingamajigger. So, is it for you? Well that all depends on if you have the expansions, value the changes if not; and if you want the Stuff or can make or download objects like those on offer. If you don't have the Expansions, this is a very worthwhile purchase to spice up your game on the cheap.
If you do, then it comes down to the stuff and how you play. Only you can answer that. I bought this used so it only cost me a few pounds. I was not disappointed. This pack gives you some really fun things to flesh out your experience of the child stage in the Sims 2. Children were always a little boring for me - it was not until they became teens and began to get jobs and date that they became interesting. This pack changes that. The best addition is fun costumes for the children.
The children wear these instead of their normal outfits. There are dragons and funny bathing costumes for both boys and girls, and princess dresses and mermaid costumes which are only for girls. There are also fun pyjamas for boys and girls. Unfortunately, girls get a lot more in both cases, which doesn't seem entirely fair but oh well. You can also deck out your children's rooms in the fantastic themes of underwater and medieval, with wallpaper, carpets and furniture to match.
All items for themed rooms come in a range of colours, making them perfect for both genders. Overall, this stuff pack is great - if you like your games geared towards the family experience, this will really flesh that out. Great Game. My granddaughter was delighted with it!
